Partnering with Alfrea, a company specializing in apartment gardening, residents of Bayshore Village installed their own community garden last week.
Working with representatives from Alfrea, residents formed a Garden Club and installed two 4’ x 8’ cedar box garden beds on the property. Plantings include lettuce, spinach, beans, collard greens, rhubarb, parsley, rosemary and sage. Garden Club members will maintain and harvest the garden, but all residents will be able to enjoy the fresh herbs and vegetables.
This farm-to-table initiative is part of Community Investment Strategies commitment to provide residents with meaningful services.
